Welcome — and thank you for taking a moment to get to know me. My name is Advocate Thato 'Moleli, and it truly means the world to me that you are here. I believe that real change begins with real connection, and my hope is that by sharing my story with you, you will see not just a candidate, but a neighbour, a fellow Mosotho, and someone who genuinely cares about the community we share.
I grew up in Lisemeng 1, a small and beautiful village at the heart of Hlotse. That is home — the place that raised me, shaped my character, and gave me a deep sense of who I am and where I come from and I carry it with me in everything I do.
I pursued my legal studies at the National University of Lesotho, and graduating was one of the proudest moments of my life. But I will be honest with you — what came after graduation was one of the hardest seasons I have ever faced. There I was, holding my law degrees, full of knowledge and ambition, yet waking up every single morning with no job prospects. It hit me like a ton of bricks because I needed to survive, and I had to figure out how on my own.
I hustled, the way so many unemployed graduates do. I tried different things. None of it came easily. Eventually, I made the decision that would change the course of my life — I opened my own legal practice. That practice became my foundation, and I have been serving as an Advocate from that office for more than ten years now.
My journey in advocacy has not been without its own challenges either. But nothing prepared me for the moment I truly heard young people — right here in my hometown — voicing the exact same pain I once carried in silence. The unemployment. The frustration. The feeling of being educated, capable, and ready, yet finding every door closed. That struck me deeply, because I know that feeling. I have lived it.
That is why I decided to step into the political arena. I chose to run as a new candidate within an established party — one with a strong following and real reach — because I believe change needs both fresh energy and a solid platform to stand on. My focus is the youth of Hlotse and our surrounding communities. Because I believe that without our young people thriving, there simply is no future worth building.
